Westlife.org Chat Room

Enter the chat room (scroll down for instructions for IE and Netscape)

(chat room open 24 hours/day. Special site chat times are Wednesday and Saturdays @ 1pm EDT [6pm GMT, 7pm CET]).

By entering the chat room, you are agreeing to the rules/details posted below. All rules that apply when using the message board, apply when using the chat room (e.g. no profanity. no use of sexual language, etc.). Please use common courtesy when in the chat room. Failure to do so may result in a kick or ban from the chat room. We will be looking for fans to help moderate the chat room (serving as operators). Operators should have the time to spend a few hours a week in the chat room - the more the better. Please post your interest on the forum.

For experienced users, the chat room is hosted on IRC thanks to Star Phoenix. Please visit his site for directions on how to register your username (registration is not required to use the chat room). If you have an IRC client such as mIRC, connect to irc.starphoenix.net, port 6667 and join #westlife.

For fans without an IRC client, no need to worry! There is a java applet right here on this site that will allow you to connect to the chat room. Just click on the link where you agree to the rules. You must have Java enabled in your browser. The applet is 91k in site, and may take a minute or so to load. While you are on IRC, do not accept downloads from people who you don't know!

For MS Internet Explorer 5.x users:

1. It takes 30 seconds to download the 91k applet. Make sure Java is enabled.

2. The next screen may pop up: Do you want to install and run "JAVirc" signed on an unknown date/time and distributed by: Patrick Ducrot...

push the "yes button"

3. Wait another 20 seconds while the browser loads images.

4. The next pop up screen requests a username. Type in any name you wish to use in the box that says "nickname". Don't worry about anything else on that screen, and push "connect".

5. After this you should be able to see the chat screen [the screen with the westlife.org logo] and will already be connected to the chat room =)

Netscape 4.x users:

1. It takes 30 seconds to download the 91k applet. Make sure Java is enabled.

2. The next screen may pop up: Java Script from 'Patrick Ducrot' is requesting additional privileges. Granting the following is high risk.

Push the "grant" button.

3. Wait another 20 seconds while the browser loads images.

4. The next pop up screen requests a username. Type in any name you wish to use in the box that says "nickname". Don't worry about anything else on that screen, and push "connect".

5. After this you should be able to see the chat screen [the screen with the westlife.org logo] and will already be connected to the chat room =)
